Q.   What is cellEPSON?
A.    cellEPSON is a customized Text Message Product Training campaign designed for retail store associates selling EPSON products.


Q.    Who is eligible to participate in the cellEPSON campaign?
A.    Sales associates that are US residents and are 18 years of age or older, and are contracted or employed full-time or part-time at any authorized EPSON reseller in the United States are eligible to participate in the cellEPSON campaign. Verification of employment is required by all prize winners.


Q.    Is there a cost to me to participate into cellEPSON?
A.    There is no cost to participate from EPSON or mVentix. Your mobile carrier may charge a nominal fee per message depending on your calling plan. Most mobile carriers offer calling plans that include free text messages or separate text messaging plans that include blocks of free text messages. We suggest that you subscribe to such a plan. Out-of-plan text messages may incur a per-message charge between $0.00 and $0.15 from the mobile carrier.


Q.   How do I opt in to participate?

A.  It only takes 5 seconds to opt in by following the instructions below:

Q.    What do I do after I opt in?
A.    You will begin receiving text messages with multiple choice EPSON product quiz questions, survey questions and alerts. You will receive up to three text messages per week (not including system replies to messages initiated from your mobile device) . You will have a fixed interval of time to respond to quiz and survey questions. Only your correct quiz answers (max. 1 per question) and your survey answers (max. 1 per question) will be entered into weekly prize drawings to win EPSON prizes (see top of this page for current prizes and drawing dates). You must be an active participant of the program at the time of prize drawing in order to qualify (see Official Terms and Conditions below for more details).

Q.    How do I know if I won a prize?
A.    Prize winners will be notified via text message to their cell phone. The text message will include a prize code and instructions on how to claim your prize. A list of winners will be posted each week on this site.

Q.    I am trying to sign up for cellEPSON, but keep on getting a “There is no such program” text message in response. What is causing this?
A.    You are either misspelling the keyword “EPSON” or not leaving spaces between the program keyword, your account code and your store number. Please, try again by using the correct sign-up message format.

Q.    Will any of my personal information be shared with anyone?
A.    The only personal information that is stored through cellEPSON is your mobile phone number, which will not be shared with anyone outside the EPSON retail program. If you are a prize winner, your first name, last name, retail account and state will be posted on the cellEPSON campaign website at www.knowareuniversity.com/cell.

Each text message, sent or received, may incur a charge as provided in your wireless provider’s rate plan.

1. Sponsor/Administrator:
  cellEPSON (The “Campaign”) is a Mobile Marketing Campaign providing a direct medium to allow Epson America, Inc. (The “Sponsor”) to communicate key marketing and product training messages, and gather retail operational feedback under the form of text message based multiple choice questions and alerts sent to employees of US resellers offering EPSON products who sign up to the Campaign via their mobile phones. The program also provides weekly opportunities for participants to win Sponsor prizes through random drawings.

2. Eligibility:
Sales associates that are US residents and are 18 years of age or older, and are contracted or employed full-time or part-time at any authorized Sponsor reseller or retailer in the United States are eligible to register and participate (The “User” or “Users”). Verification of employment is required by all prize winners. Users normally learn about the Campaign through marketing materials and communications distributed by the Sponsor, its retail representatives and agencies. You can also participate if you are a member of the specified User group and learn about the Campaign by reference from another User. Employees and immediate families of Administrator, Sponsor, their advertising and promotion agencies, and their subsidiaries and divisions, are not eligible to participate or win. By entering the Campaign and any related promotions, Users are bound by and agree to these Campaign-specific terms and conditions. Void where prohibited by law.

3. Program Period: 
The Campaign will begin on January 1, 2009 at 12:00 AM and end on December 31, 2009, 11:59:59 PM.  Users may choose to opt out at any time by texting “STOP” to the Campaign short code 29608.

4. How to Register: If you have a text messaging capable phone, you may register for the Campaign by texting the Campaign keyword “EPSON”, your retailer code (see retailer code table above), and your store number, separated by spaces to the program short code 29608. Upon successful registration, you will receive a text message confirming your registration.

5. How to Participate in the Campaign: Subsequent to registration (as stated in # 4), you will start receiving multiple choice quiz or survey questions and alerts to your mobile phone via text messaging. You will receive between one (1) and three (3) quiz, survey and/or alert text message per week, depending on the retail selling season. In addition, you may participate in other limited time seasonal promotions.
Quiz questions will include several possible answers, and each answer will be marked by a letter. To answer a quiz question, you must reply to the original text message with the letter of the answer that you think is correct. You must only include the answer letter in your text message reply. You will shortly receive an automatic text message response stating that your answer is correct or incorrect. Only the first one (1) answer per question per mobile phone number will be entered into a prize drawing if the answer is correct. The same answer also must be submitted within the qualifying prize period (a calendar week) and by midnight, Pacific Time of the day the question was sent to you in order to qualify as a valid entry into the weekly drawing to win a Sponsor prize. If you submit more than one answer to a question, your additional answers will not qualify for a prize drawing entry and you will receive an automatic text message reply to each of your answers, stating that you have already submitted an answer to the question.
Survey questions will include several possible answers, and each answer will be marked by a letter. To answer a survey question, you must reply to the original text message with the letter of the answer that you think is correct. You must only include the answer letter in your text message reply. You will shortly receive an automatic text message confirming that your survey answer has been received. Your first survey answer for each question will be entered into the weekly drawing to win a prize. The same answer also must be submitted within the qualifying prize period (calendar week) and by midnight, Pacific Time of the day the question was sent to you in order to qualify for a valid entry into the weekly drawing to win a Sponsor prize. If you submit more than one answer to a question, your additional answers will not qualify for a prize drawing entry and you will receive an automatic text message reply to each of your answers, stating that you have already submitted an answer to the question.
In addition to the above entry rules, you must be an active Campaign User at the time of prize drawing in order to qualify to win a prize. Qualifying quiz and survey answer entries will be entered into a weekly random drawing to win a Sponsor prize.
Entrants that submit entries by text messaging will be charged according to their rate plan for text messaging and for every question that you answer. If you enter via text messaging, you will incur charges for up to 4 text messages. Entrants should contact their carrier for pricing plans and details.

6. Periodic Prize Drawings:
Prize drawings will be conducted weekly each Sunday between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM from among all eligible entries submitted between Monday, 12:00 AM and Sunday, 10:00 AM of the same week. The Administrator, an independent judging organization whose decisions will be final and binding in all matters related to these prize drawings, will randomly select one (1) active Campaign User as a potential prize winner per week from amongst all eligible entries received for that week. Entrants selected must comply with all Campaign terms and conditions, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Potential winners will be notified by text message, containing a unique prize code and instructions on how to claim the prize within 30 days of the receipt of the winner notification text message. If a potential winner does not claim a prize as stated in the winner notification text message, the Administrator or the Sponsor may attempt to contact the potential winner via e-mail, or phone. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, prize is returned as undeliverable, or fails to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within the required time period (if required), potential winner forfeits prize. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize to an alternate winner or not to award the prize. Prizes will be fulfilled up to 10 weeks after a valid prize claim is submitted. Sweepstakes and prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no substitutions will be permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value in the event of prize unavailability. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winners.


7. General Rules:

a.
By entering, Users fully and unconditionally agree and accept to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and the decisions of Administrator, which shall be final. Sponsor has the right to modify any rules in its sole discretion for clarification purposes at any time without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Campaign.


b.
Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner's (or parent/legal guardian's) consent to Sponsor's and Administrator’s use of winner's name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.


c.
Entrants enter at their own risk. Administrator and Sponsor are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incorrect, incomplete, ineligible or unintelligible entries; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware, software program, network, Internet or computer failures or difficulties; (iii) errors in transmission; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Administrator and/or Sponsor that may cause the Campaign to be disrupted or corrupted; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, or from participation in the Campaign; or (vi) any printing or typographical error in any materials associated with these Terms and Conditions generally. Entrants assume all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by their participation in the Campaign and/or the acceptance and/or use of any prize, and release Administrator and Sponsor, and their respective officers, directors, employees, parents, subsidiaries and affiliates from any and all such liability. Administrator, Sponsor, and their respective officers, directors, employees, parents, subsidiaries and affiliates assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's mobile device and/or computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with this Campaign.


PLEASE NOTE THAT A HIGH VOLUME OF SMS (TEXT MESSAGING) ENTRIES OR TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH THE SYSTEM MAY RESULT IN TEMPORARY INABILITY TO ENTER THE CAMPAIGN OR A DELAY IN THE PROCESSING OF ENTRIES SUCH THAT YOUR ENTRY IS NOT RECEIVED IN TIME TO PARTICIPATE. ADMINISTRATOR AND SPONSOR ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE SHOULD ANY ENTRY NOT BE RECEIVED DUE TO SUCH DELAYS.

d.
Administrator and/or Sponsor may prohibit any entrant or potential User from participating in the Campaign, if at the sole discretion of Administrator and/or Sponsor, such person shows a disregard for these Campaign rules, or acts (1) with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other User, Sponsor, Administrator or their agents or representatives; or (2) in any other disruptive manner.


e.
In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a User entering via the method set forth, the authorized account holder of the cellular phone used to enter, if applicable, will be deemed to be the User. "Authorized account holder" of a cellular phone is the natural person in whose name the phone has been issued and to whom services are billed.


f.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions, or the rights and obligations of the User, the Administrator and the Sponsor in connection with the Campaign, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of California without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.

8. Prizes: Weekly prizes will consist of consumer electonics products as follows: EPSON Stylus NX105 printer (retail value $69.99), EPSON Perfection Flatbed Photo Scanner (retail value $99.99), EPSON Workforce 500 Multifunction Photo Priner/Copier/Sanner (retail value $129.99), EPSON Artisan 800 Wireless Multifunction Photo Priner/Copier/Sanner (retail value $299.99).

9. Winners' List: Winners lists for the Campaign will be published on the Campaign website www.mventix.com/cellEPSON and any other Campaign-related materials as determined by the Sponsor.

10. Personal Information: Information collected from entrants is subject to the Sponsor and Administrator Privacy Policies.

11. Agreement to Terms and Conditions: By accepting any prize, a User fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Terms and Conditions, and the decisions of Sponsor and Administrator which are final and binding in all matters related to the Campaign.
